PRESS RELEASE

February 2026. SMARTOUR, an Erasmus+ partnership of seven organisations from Greenland, Spain, Greece, Romania and Montenegro, has made its online course in smart tourism freely available on the Altera Vita e-learning platform. The course is offered in English and in partner languages including Spanish, Danish, Romanian and Montenegrin, and learners can enter as guests and study at their own pace.
The European Commission sees smart tourism as the sector’s answer to fast change: new digital tools and services, equal access for every visitor, sustainable local development and support for creative industries and heritage. SMARTOUR turns that vision into practical training, helping tourism professionals update their skills and boosting the employability of students and workers in the sector.

Alongside the modules, learners get a library of resources built by the partners from real destinations, from Arctic tourism in Greenland to heritage festivals in the Greek islands and accessible beaches in Spain.
