The kick-off meeting for the Smartour project in Montenegro was completed on 13-14 December 2023

ℹ️According to the European Commission, smart tourism “responds to new challenges and demands in a rapidly changing sector, including the development of digital tools, products and services, equal opportunities and access for all visitors, sustainable development of the region and support for creative industries, local talent and heritage”.
🎯The main objectives of the SMARTOUR project are:
To create a training program for VET students and tourism workers based on the latest trends and needs of the tourism sector.
To provide easy-to-use tools that can be adopted and adapted by small destinations and small operators and entrepreneurs.
And to enhance the employment of VET students and tourism workers.
The goal of the project, which will last until March 31, 2026, is to create an online platform with examples of good practice in the field of sustainable tourism, as well as educational material in the form of courses that will be available to the general public, translated into all five languages of the members of this consortium (Spanish, Greek, Montenegrin, Danish, Faroese, Romanian) and, of course, will be of greatest benefit to all higher education institutions as one of the resources of non-formal, but also formal education (vocational schools).

The initial meeting – the so-called kick-off meeting – of all partner organizations will be held on December 13th and 14th in Bar, at the premises of SEUŠ, so that teams from Vigo, Valencia, Burgos, Greenland, Timisoara and Greece are visiting our city these days. The meeting will also be attended by representatives of TO Bar (as project associates) Enita Leković and Jovana Nenezić .

The project is being implemented under the auspices of ERASMUS + and within the framework of the Cooperative Partnership in Vocational Education and Training. The project coordinator is the Greenlandic educational institution Niuernermik lliniarfik, so that reports will be submitted to the Danish National Agency, and the partner organizations, in addition to the Bar Secondary School of Economics and Hospitality, are: the State University of Timisoara, the Misericordia Integrated Educational Center from Valencia, the Cyclades Center for Social Entrepreneurship from the Greek island of Syros, the Femxa Career Guidance Center from Vigo, the European Entrepreneurs and Innovation Center from Burgos.

The host of the next meeting is Ermopouli – the center of the Cyclades archipelago.
